English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher
*Tribal preference will apply to qualified applicants in accordance with the Lac Courte Oreilles Policies & Procedures Manual, consistent with federal Indian preference requirements.
The ELA Teacher provides engaging English language instruction for upper elementary and middle school students in a bilingual, culturally focused learning environment. This position works closely with Ojibwe-language educators to support literacy, academic achievement, and student success.
- Deliver English language instruction and support student achievement
- Implement effective classroom management and differentiated learning strategies
- Monitor, evaluate, and document student progress
- Collaborate with Ojibwe Language Medium teachers and school staff
- Participate in parent conferences, team meetings, and professional development
- Support a safe, positive, and culturally relevant learning environment
- Experience working with American Indian children and families
- Wisconsin DPI certification or willingnes to obtain certification wiithin one (1) year
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to integrate technology into classroom instruction
- Must pass a background check
