WHAT IS MEDICATION ASSISTED THERAPY (MAT)?

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications in a combination with counseling and behavioral therapies for the treatment of substance use disorder. MAT program is a whole-person approach that provides effective treatment for substance use disorder. Our MAT care team includes, MAT provider, primary care provider, care coordinator, substance use counselor, and behavioral health therapist. 

GETTING STARTED / HOW DO I GET STARTED?

Schedule regular appointments with our MAT care team members.

Develop a treatment plan that is individualized for you.

MEDICATION ASSISTANCE

Program referrals may include LCO CCS, LCO Voc Rehab, LCO Mental Health, Spiritual Advisors, nutrition educators, parenting, etc. in addition to the Substance Use Counselor

Opioid use changes a part of the brain that is involved with basic functioning. Some can’t get past the need for the drug to process information to help them reach a state of abstinence (not using)
