K-8 STEM Teacher
*Tribal preference will apply to qualified applicants in accordance with the Lac Courte Oreilles Policies & Procedures Manual, consistent with federal Indian preference requirements.
The K-8 STEM Teacher provides engaging instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for students in grades K-8. This position works closely with school leadership and the Curriculum Director to develop standards-aligned STEM curriculum while fostering student curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The teacher also supports school-wide activities and contributes to a positive educational environment that reflects the mission and values of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School.
- Teach STEM coursework for students in grades K-8
- Develop standards-aligned STEM curriculum in collaboration with the Curriculum Director
- Maintain attendance records, grades, quarterly reports, schedules, and other required student documentation
- Order and maintain classroom curriculum materials, supplies, and STEM resources
- Meet with parents, the Principal, and Student Support Team regarding student progress, attendance, and academic concerns
- Participate in staff meetings and professional collaboration activities
- Assist with hall monitoring, lunch supervision, recess duties, and other assigned responsibilities
- Support school events, including assemblies, feasts, powwows, graduations, and other student activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Technology, or a related field
- Wisconsin teaching license or certification preferred
- Knowledge of STEM curriculum development and instructional best practices
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with strong leadership, staff, parents, and student support teams
