Position Summary

The K-8 STEM Teacher provides engaging instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics for students in grades K-8. This position works closely with school leadership and the Curriculum Director to develop standards-aligned STEM curriculum while fostering student curiosity, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. The teacher also supports school-wide activities and contributes to a positive educational environment that reflects the mission and values of the Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach STEM coursework for students in grades K-8
  • Develop standards-aligned STEM curriculum in collaboration with the Curriculum Director
  • Maintain attendance records, grades, quarterly reports, schedules, and other required student documentation
  • Order and maintain classroom curriculum materials, supplies, and STEM resources
  • Meet with parents, the Principal, and Student Support Team regarding student progress, attendance, and academic concerns
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional collaboration activities
  • Assist with hall monitoring, lunch supervision, recess duties, and other assigned responsibilities
  • Support school events, including assemblies, feasts, powwows, graduations, and other student activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Technology, or a related field
  • Wisconsin teaching license or certification preferred
  • Knowledge of STEM curriculum development and instructional best practices
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with strong leadership, staff, parents, and student support teams
  • Commitment to supporting the philosophy, policies, and educational mission of Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe School
