Position Summary

The Head Varsity Volleyball Coach leads all aspects of the high school volleyball program, including player development, practice planning, game preparation, and program management. This position is responsible for creating a positive and competitive team environment that promotes athletic achievement, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic success. The coach serves as a rolle model for student-athletes and helps build a strong, unified volleyball program within the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and supervise practices, matches, tournaments, and team activities
  • Teach volleyball fundamentals, advanced techniques, conditioning, and game strategies
  • Select team members, establish lineups, and develop competitive game plans
  • Promote sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and adherence to school and athletic policies
  • Work collaboratively with assistant coaches, junior varsity and middle school programs, and the Athletic Director to strengthen the overall volleyball program
  • Monitor academic eligibility nd encourage tudent achievement in the classroom
  • Maintain regular communication with players, parents, faculty, and administration regarding schedules, expectations, and player progress
  • Manage team equipment, uniforms, and program inventory while promoting the program within the school and community

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level
  • Collegiate playing experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, strategies, and player development
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to motivate, mentor, and develop student-athletes
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
