Position Summary

The Lac Courte Oreilles Child Care Center is seeking a Lead Teacher to plan, implement, and oversee classroom activities that support the development of children from birth to age 12.

This role is responsible for managing the classroom environment, developing lesson plans, and collaborating with families and community partners to support each child’s social, emotional, and cognitive development. All work is performed in accordance with DCF 251 standards and Tribal Policies.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
Lead classroom operations and ensure a safe, organized environment
Monitor and assess children’s developmental progress
Maintain accurate records for children in care
Supervise indoor and outdoor activities
Work collaboratively with staff to support individual child needs
Maintain professional communication with families and community partners
Participate in required training, staff meetings, and professional development
Ensure cultural awareness and inclusion in classroom programming

Minimum Qualifications

Must be 18 years of age of older
High school diploma or GED
CDA Certification required
Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification required
SBS/SIBS training certification required
Clear physical health and tuberculosis testing required
Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Experience working with children and knowledge of age-appropriate practices
Ability to lift 40 lbs regularly
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, databases)
