Cultural Resource / GIS Technician

The Cultural Resource/GIS Technician supports Tribal land, cultural resource, and environmental projects through GIS mapping, field data collection, research, and documentation. This position works closely with the GIS Coordinator, Tribal Historic Preservation Office, and environmental staff to help develop land and cultural resource protection initiatives.
- Conduct research using land records, maps, GIS data, aerial photography, and technical reports
- Assist with development and maintenance of GIS data related to cultural and natural resources
- Perform fieldwork using GPS, Field Maps, Survey123, and related technologies
- Support GIS data entry, quality control, and map updates
- Assist with project documentation through photogtaphy, videography, and written communication
- Support environmental and cultural resource protection projects as assigned
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience, preferably in a team environment
- Interest in environmental, cultural resource, or GIS-related work
- Willingness to learn GIS, GPS, field mapping, and data collection technologies
- Strong reliability, organization, and ability to work independently
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow Tribal policies and procedures
