We, the Anishinabeg, the people of Odaawaa-Zaaga’iganiing, the Lac Courte Oreilles Band, will sustain our heritage, preserving our past, strengthening our present, and embracing our future. The Housing Improvement Program (HIP) is a home repair, renovation, replacement and new housing grant program administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and federally-recognized Indian tribes.
With the Tribe’s BIA ARPA HIP allocation, the tribe built three (3) small single bedroom homes. Two (2) in the New Post Community and one (1) in the Round Lake Community.
The tribe is re-opening the application process to fill the vacancy for one of the New Post sites. Applications are available online at lco-nsn.gov or in person at the LCO ARPA/HAF Office, 9790N County Road K, Hayward, WI 54843. The deadline to apply is September 30, 2024.
Applications are ranked according to the number of points an applicant receives on the priority calculation form. Factors that are ranked are: total annual household income, aged person, disabled person, and other conditions: Veteran, Homeless, Dilapidated house and overcrowded conditions.
