Red Cross Blood Drive at LCO School – 12/10
It is time for another blood drive!
This will be the last Blood Drive at the LCO Ojibwe School for the 25-26 school year, so PLEASE consider donating at this drive.
The more units of blood we collect, the more lives we save, and the more zhooniyaa we receive for a senior scholarship.
Nicholas Trotterchaude was last year’s recipient and is currently attending UMD.
Not only do you get the intrinsic “feel goods” for helping to save lives, but you also get a “mini health check-up”. Your hematocrit (amount of red blood cells), blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate are taken onsite.
After a successful donation, your blood is then tested for an entire array of “stuff” – which is how I found out I was carrying a tick-borne disease known as babesiosa which makes me ineligible for blood donations for two years. 😢 But! I never would have been tested (and therefore it would have gone untreated) if I hadn’t donated blood.
As always, please let me know if you need assistance signing up to donate.
Miigwech for your generosity!
