Lac Courte Oreilles, WI— A temporary food shelf will soon open in the vacant space between Koobies Coffee Shop and the LCO Federal Credit Union, located at the intersection of County Roads B & K.  
 
This initiative is designed to assist Tribal Members currently experiencing delays in their SNAP benefits due to the ongoing federal government shutdown.
 
The LCO Food Shelf will begin accepting donations of non-perishable food items on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. 
 
Additional food items may be dropped off at the LCO Tribal Office and Health Center.
 
Eligible Tribal Members enrolled in the SNAP program may begin picking up food boxes on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Bring your SNAP benefit card to show proof of enrollment.
 
Operating Hours:
Tuesdays & Fridays 
12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
 
The food shelf will remain open through Friday, November 21, 2025, pending updates on the federal government’s status.
 
The Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Governing Board is monitoring this situation and will adjust plans if the shutdown is extended for a prolonged period of time.
