Substitute Teacher
*Tribal preference will apply to qualified applicants in accordance with the Lac Courte Oreilles Policies & Procedures Manual, consistent with federal Indian preference requirements.
The substitute teacher supports classroom continuity by stepping in as needed to ensure safe, consistent, and high quality care and learning experiences for children in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
- Implement lesson plans and maintain classroom routines
- Lead circle time, reading, music, and structured activities
- Supervise children in accordance with Head Start safety standards
- Support smooth transitions between activities
- Provide coverage for teachers and classroom staff
- Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
- High school diploma or GED (age 18+)
- CDA credential or ECE coursework preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience working with children birth to five preferredd
- CPR and First Aid certification (or obtain within 90 days)
- Must pass background checks and health screening
- Must be reliable and flexible, able to work on short notice
