LCO Public Works Announces Water Line Flushing

LAC COURTE OREILLES, Wisc. – Starting on Monday, September 8, 2025, the LCO Public Works Department will begin flushing the water lines in the “Drytown” system, which includes the following communities:

Round Lake, Drytown, Watertower, Bacon Strip/Square, Giiwedin, Poppletown, Schoolhouse, Akikaandag, Miskogiizhig Apts, New Clinic, Tall Pines, K-Town, Daycare, Head Start, LCO Schools, Tribal Office, LCOOU, Country Store, Quick Stop, Indian Lake, Skunawong, Gurno Lake and Reserve.

This will take us at least a couple of weeks.

After the Drytown system is complete, we will flush the New Post system.  This system usually only takes one day to complete.

Flushing of water lines will take place Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

During this time, you may experience changes in water pressure or discoloration of your water.

Please refrain from doing laundry during those hours.

Please refrain from drinking discolored water.  Usually, the discoloration will disappear after letting water run for a few minutes.  If it does not return to clear, or you are experiencing pressure issues longer than expected, please call us at 715-634-0345.
