We, the Anishinabeg, the people of Odaawaa-Zaaga’iganiing, the Lac Courte Oreilles Band, will sustain our heritage, preserving our past, strengthening our present, and embracing our future. We will defend our inherent sovereign rights and safeguard Mother Earth. We will provide for the educational, health, social welfare, and economic stability of the present and future generations.
LCO Public Works is committed to provide its customers with clean, safe, and quality potable water. Diligently, 7 employees manage over 30 miles of water lines, 210 fire hydrants, 4 water storage tanks, 4 wells, and 2 pump houses to meet water health standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) along with the guidance of the United States Public Health Service’s (USPHS) & Indian Health Service (IHS). The LCO Public Works Department currently employs three licensed operators, two office personnel, and is overseen by Director. Operators are certified through Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and frequently attend training as recommended by IHS.
