Introduction

The LCO Food Distribution Program (LCO FDP) offers food in lieu of Food Stamps.

LCO FDP started operations in 1980 with funding from the Food and Nutrition Service of USDA. It is one of over 100 Distribution Sites operating on Indian Reservations and Communities throughout the United States.

In an attempt to overcome the problems of hunger on the Reservations by providing eligible house hold with a well-balanced, nutritious monthly food package, a new family nutrition program was developed.
