LCO Food Shelf Reopens

Food 4 Kids Summer Program

ATTENTION PARENTS:  Will your child need food assistance this summer?   If your child attends one of the Hayward public schools,  LCO schools, Northern Lights Christian Academy, Northern Waters Environmental Charter School or St. Francis Mission School or is home schooled through one of these schools, now is the time to sign up for the 2026 Hayward Community Food Shelf’s Food 4 Kids Summer Program.  There is NO COST to the parent or child for this program. Informational sheet/permission slips are available through the schools and their websites and Facebook pages as well as at the Shelf, its website and Facebook page; or download a form from this linkForms should be submitted to your child’s school.  Late enrollment forms may be submitted directly to the Hayward Community Food Shelf (HCFS).

HCFS will provide over 20 pounds of food each month to each participant.  F4K boxes will be available at HCFS starting Monday, June 1st and can be picked up by parents each month during the summer.  Please note HCFS will be closed July 4, 2026. To make arrangements for your child’s F4K box to be picked up by someone else, please call 715-634-4237.

HCFS is located at 16216W Highway 63S in Hayward.  HCFS is open every Monday and the first Saturday of the month from 9:00 am until noon.  

F4K is part of the Hayward Community Food Shelf’s program of providing food assistance to those in need.  This program is in addition to the general program offered each month to families.  Like all HCFS programs, this program is totally funded through donations and totally operated by volunteers.

2026 Golf Classic Scholarship Requests Accepted Through 7/31/2026

In 2006, the Tribal Governing Board established the Education Scholarship Fund (ESF) to provide additional educational resources for enrolled Lac Courte Oreilles members.

The ESF is funded solely through donations received in connection with the Annual LCO Education Golf Classic.

These proceeds are available to fund education scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 per recipient.

To be considered for a scholarship, a person must meet the following eligibility criteria and apply as described below:

Seeking Donations for Family Displaced by Fire

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:  

LAC COURTE OREILLES, Wis. — On April 15, a fire at a residence in the Drytown community displaced a family. Fortunately, all household members evacuated safely. However, the damage was severe, and the home is uninhabitable.

 
LCO Housing Management Services is seeking donations and other assistance on behalf of the family from local businesses and charitable organizations.
 
Items needed include:
 
• Household items
• Blankets
• Linens
• Towels
• Pots, pans, and dishes
• Cleaning supplies
• Personal hygiene items
 
 
Beginning Monday, April 20, donations may be dropped off at the LCO Housing Department. 
 
LCO Housing Management Services is seeking donations and other assistance on behalf of the family from local businesses and charitable organizations.
